Saint Ludmila (Circa 860 - September 15, 921) is a Roman Catholic saint and martyr. She was natural within Mělník, the girl of the Slavic prince. Saint Ludmila was a grandma of Saint Wenceslaus, who is widely known as Proficient King Wenceslaus.
Ludmila was married to Bořivoj I of Bohemia, who was a number one Christian Duke of Bohemia. A few was converted to Christianity around 873. Their efforts to convert Bohemia to Christianity was initially non swell received, & it were caused from either their united states for the period per pagans. Finally a few returned, & ruled for many years prior to retiring to Tetín, near Beroun.
A few was succeeded by their boy Spytihněv, who ruled for 2 years prior to he died. Spitihněv was succeeded by his brother Vratislav. Once Vratislav died around 916, his eight year old boy Wenceslas became the next ruler of Bohemia. It was primarily Ludmila world health organization raised her grandson.
Wenceslaus' mother Drahomíra became jealous of Ludmila's influence across Wenceslaus. She got ii noblemen slaying Ludmila at Tetín, & a share of Ludmila's story says that she was strangled by using her veil. Initially Saint Ludmila was buried at St. Michael's at Tetín. Onetime prior to a month 1100 her remains were flushed to the church of St. George at Prague, Czech Republic.
Saint Ludmila is venerated as a patronne of Bohemia. Her feast day is celebrated in September 16. She is considered to become the patron saint of Bohemia, converts, Czech Republic, duchesses, problems with around-relative-in-law, & widows. She was canonized shortly when her demise.
